Definition: An elevated, solid lesion that is greater than .5 cm in diameter. A large nodule is a tumor. A nodule differs from a plaque in it's elevation. A nodule is a "bump" and a plaque is more flat.

Also Known As: Basal cell carcinoma, furuncle, hemangioma, keratoacanthoma, lipoma, melanoma, wart, xanthoma
