More Botox® for Men

From Heather Brannon, MD, About.com GuideJanuary 3, 2008

Even though most cosmetic procedures are performed on women, more men are starting to get into looking younger with various procedures. Botox treatment is the most common cosmetic procedure performed in the United States and it seems that many women getting Botox are encouraging their male friends and family-members to try it out.

A recent review of Botox treatment in men in Dermatologic Therapy showed that men need higher doses of Botox than women to achieve the desired results. It also showed that larger, muscular men need more Botox than slender men.

Providers who are used to treating women with Botox may not use a high enough dose in their male patients causing an inadequate response or requiring men to come back for more treatments more often. Men who are getting Botox injections should ask their provider how many men they treat and if they understand the dosing difference between men and women.

It’s amazing that over the years men are more and more aware of their appearance. However, I hop they don’t go overboard like some of use girls do:)

Being a guy I can say it’s such a waste of money for men to go for botox. I’m not saying not to make your self look good and proper hygine is great but come on botox, I think not.
I caught my self looking at but that’s a little different then botox
